Although Caputo-Grindle Antiques (Old Tin Cup) is a relatively new business in Central Maine, our passion for collecting antiques has developed and continued throughout many years. Painted furniture and antique accessories are offered, with a special emphasis on hooked and shirred rugs.

You will be interested to know that several pieces from the rug collection were featured in a historic exhibition of hooked rugs at the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland, Maine in 2010; other pieces were included in the highly-regarded book, published in 2008, "Rug Hooking in Maine 1838 to 1940," by Mildred Cole Péladeau.

The repair and mounting of rugs as well as custom rug-hooking are services that are also offered to our valued customers.
